The Link - Newsfeeds Menu Item adds a link to an existing newsfeed. Newsfeeds are obtained from any site syndicating news using an RSS format. Joomla is shipping with an integrated newsfeed reader. Newsfeeds may also be displayed on your site through the creation of a custom module accessed in the Module Manager [site] (Modules -> Site Modules -> New).

Details:
Name : Type here the name of the Menu Item as it will appear on the menu on your site.
Newsfeed to Link : Here you may select one specific Newsfeed among all Newsfeeds published in your site as shown on the list accessed through Components -> Newsfeeds -> Manage Newsfeeds.
URL : The URL for this item will show after Apply/Save.

On Click, Open in : Here you may select among 3 possibilities. 'Parent Window With Browser Navigation' is the same window you call the link from, 'New Window with Browser Navigation' is a full featured new window, 'New Window Without Browser Navigation' is a new pop-up window with just scroll bars which may be resized.

Parent Item : Select 'Top' if you want the menu item to appear at the same level as your primary navigation. You can also put the menu item under an existing menu item by selecting that existing menu item as the parent.

Ordering: By default, Joomla adds new items to the end of the existing menu items list. After saving or applying the new item, you can change its order when editing, using a pull-down menu to select the item after which the item will appear.

Access Level: Sets who can view this item.

Published: Sets whether the menu item is published or not. By default, new menu items are set to be published.

Parameters:
Menu Image: Allows you to set an image that would appear to the left or right of the menu item. The image must be placed in the /images/stories directory. Furthermore, for the image to show, in Modules -> Site Modules -> [name-of-menu], the 'Show Menu Items' option must be set to 'Yes' in the parameters.

Page Class Suffix: Allows you to set customized styles for this page. The suffix you type here is automatically added to the CSS classes for this page, and will have to be defined in your template's CSS stylesheet for usage.

Back Button: Controls whether to show or hide a "Back" text link that would appear on the bottom of the page and return the user to the previously viewed page. The pull down lets select 'Use Global' to use the parameter as defined globally through the Site->Global Configuration, 'Hide' or 'Show'.

Page Title: Text to display at the top of the page.

Page Title : Show/Hide the page title.

Feed Image : Show/Hide the image of the feed, as defined by the syndicating site. If you define this image in another Joomla site, it would be in the 'Syndication Setting' (Components - >Syndicate).

Feed Description : Show/Hide the description text of the feed, as defined by the syndicating site.

Item Description : Show/Hide the description or intro text of an item. If 'Hide' then just the Title of the Item fed will be displayed.

Word Count : Allows you to limit the amount of visible item description text. 0 will show all text. The amount shown also depends on the parameters defined by the syndicated site.
