The Who's Online module displays the number of users currently accessing the Web site. The module displays users as guests (users that aren’t logged in) and members (users that are logged in).

Type:  mod_whosonline

Details

Title: Enter or edit (if needed) the title that will be displayed in the title bar of the module on the displayed page.

Show Title:  Select “Yes” to have the title displayed.  Select “No” to hide the title.

Position:  Select from the drop-down list to place this module in a specific position on the displayed page. For example selecting “left” position places the module in the displayed page’s left column.  Selecting “right” position places the module in the displayed page’s right column.  These positions are determined by the location of the positions in the template

Module order:  Click an element in this drop down menu to determine the order this module will appear relative to other modules listed in the same “Position” (e.g. “left” or “right”).  See “Position” in this document.

Access Level:  Click the elements of this list (the Web site’s user groups) to determine which sets of users have access to this module.

Published:  Click “Yes’ to publish this module; click “No” to unpublish.  Published modules are displayed on the pages selected in the “Pages / Items “ multi-select box.  Unpublished modules are hidden from view, even if there are selections made in "Pages/Items."

ID:  This is a unique identification number assigned to this module by the Joomla! system.  This is automatically generated and cannot be changed.

Pages / Items:  Click one or more items in this multi-select box to determine the pages this module will be displayed on.  Where the module is actually displayed is affected by the choices made in the “Position” menu mentioned on this page.

Parameters

Module Class Suffix:  Enter the suffix for the CSS class of this module. (e.g .moduletable-poll).  In this example, the "-poll" is the suffix.  This suffix class must currently be in the template CSS Style file.  This allows individual CSS classes to be applied to certain modules independent of the site’s default Template CSS classes.

Details:  Click the “# of Guests/Members” radio button to display the number of guests and the number of logged in users currently accessing the site. Click the “Member Names” radio button to list the names of all logged in users.  Click the “Both” radio button to display both of the previous options simultaneously.

The Latest News module shows a list of the most recently published Items that are still current (some may have expired even though they are the most recent). Items that are displayed on the Front Page Component are not included in the list.

Details:
Title: Title of the module to display on the page.

Show title: Sets if the Title will display or not on the page.

Position: Sets which of the positions available the module will display in.

Module order: The order the module will appear among modules assigned to the same page, in the same position.

Acces Level: Sets who can view this module. Public, Registered or Special.

Published: Sets if the module contents will show on the Frontend of your Web site (if chosen Position is available in the template).

ID: This is the ID number for the module item. This is auto-allocated by the Joomla system when the module is saved.

Pages / Items:
Sets on which pages the module should be displayed.

Parameters:
Module Class Suffix: A suffix to be applied to the CSS class of the module (table.moduletable) to allow individual module styling.

Enable Cache: Select to cache or not the content of this module.

Module Mode: Allows choice beteween display of Content Items, Static Content Items or both.

Frontpage Items: Show/Hide items designated for the FrontPage Component (this works only for Content Items).

Count: The number of items to display. The default is 5.

Category ID: Select to display items from a specific category or set of Categories (to specify more than one category, separate with commas). Categories IDs may be found in the list accessed through Content ->Category Manager.

Section ID: Select to display items from a specific Section or set of Sections (to specify more than one Section, separate with commas). Sections IDs may be found in the list accessed through Content -> Section Manager.

The Popular module shows a list of the currently published Items that have been viewed the most - determined by the number of times the page has been viewed.

Type: mod_mostread

Details:
Title: Title of the module to display on the page.

Show title: Decides if the Title will display or not on the page.

Position: Sets which of the positions available the module will display in.

Module order: The order the module will appear among modules assigned to the same page, in the same position.

The Sections module shows a list of all Sections configured in your database. The Sections refer here to the Published Item Sections in the order shown in the list displayed through Content  -> Section Manager. If the configuration 'Show Unauthorized Links' is set to 'No' in Global Configuration, the list will be limited to the sections the user is allowed to see.

The Archive module shows a linked list of the calendar months which contain Archived items. After you have changed the status of a Content Item to "Archived", this list will be automatically generated. A click on the month link will activate the Archive content overview in a Blog form. All site archived Items are displayed.

The Template Chooser  module allows the user (visitor) to change the template on the fly from the Frontend via a drop down selection list. The list proposes a choice from all the templates installed in templates/.module allows the User (visitor) to change the template on the fly, from the Frontend, via a drop down selection list.

NOTE: This may cause display problems if needed module positions are not provided for in certain templates.

Type: mod_templatechooser

Details:
Title: Title of the module to display on the page.

Show title: Decides if the Title will display or not on the page.

Position: Sets which of the positions available the module will display in.

Module order: The order the module will appear among modules assigned to the same page, in the same position.

Menu Type: Maximum number of letters to be used for the template name (default is 20).

Width: The width of the preview image (default is 140 pixels). This may cause unwanted results if the original image has a different width.

Height: The height of the template image (default is 90 pixels). This may cause unwanted results if the original image has a different width.
